Omni’s studios have everything you’d expect from a top line facility as well as the added bonus of being situated in a lively and vibrant city. With its diverse surroundings, funky bars and chic hotels, Cardiff is an ideal place to base your production as well as to unwind at the end of a busy shoot.
Whether you have a taste for five star hotels such as Cardiff Bay’s St David’s Hotel & Spa or prefer the convenience of our neighbouring Copthorne Hotel, accommodation isn’t a problem.
Excellent transport links mean that whether you are travelling by road, rail or air, our studios are accessible with the bonus of plenty of free onsite parking.
Studio 1
At 7500 sq feet and 696 sq meters, Studio 1 has the space to house the most adventurous of sets. Its lighting grid can control up to 345 dimmers while the pantographs are motor driven and come complete with a 32 amp extension cable, capable of lifting 50Kg.
Over the last 2 years, Studio 1 has been adapted to accommodate a whole range of various productions, each of them differing in genres. The open space has been used for films, dramas, soaps, LE and adverts with many quiz shows also being recorded. Allied to this, the studio can house up to 300 people, as well as spectator seating. The ambiance created is second to none.
Omni’s in house expertise offers you the complete quality facilities package, but clients also have the opportunity to dry hire.
Studio 2
Our smaller 400 sq ft studio can be hired for both half or full days. Ideal for a piece to camera, small interviews or lighter productions, such as simple cookery shoots. From 2009 it will be upgraded to be stocked with several backdrops and have enhanced lighting facilities, including a number of stored sittings that can be recalled at the push of a button for that quick fix!
